History of Apple Door Systems
Apple Door was founded in 1973 by Hubert Apple, Jr. Originally, the firm began operating as an overhead door service company in Richmond, Virginia. In 1978, Hubert's son, Dan Apple, joined the firm and began expanding the company's focus to include sales and distribution of new doors and related products.
During the years Apple Door has grown from Hubert's one man operation working out of his mobile home to Virginia 's largest independent door dealer. By the mid 1980's Apple Door was the premier door company in Richmond . In 1989, the first satellite store was established in Waynesboro to serve the western part of the state. Another store was established in Williamsburg in 1996 which services the peninsula and Tidewater area. Apple completed the circle by opening a store in Fredericksburg in 1999. The newest store was opened in Richmond 's West End in 2003. Apple Door had the honor of becoming the first fully accredited door dealer in the United States . This distinction is symbol of the company's high professional ethics and was granted by the Institute for Door Dealer Education and Accreditation.
Today, Apple Door has 8 locations, over 65 employees, 30 service crews and sales in excess of $11,000,000. While the company has undergone many changes over the years, the company's commitment to providing the best service in Virginia has not. Also present is the Apple family's daily involvement and their dedication to the many loyal customers they have served for so many years.
